Saint Paul College is the most diverse college in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The college has served Saint Paul and it’s surrounding communities for more than 100 years, emphasizing career and technical education to prepare students for employment, and liberal and fine arts education to prepare students for transfer. We seek faculty members who employ trauma-informed, culturally relevant approaches to teaching and learning; who can deliver engaging in-person instruction and develop high-quality online courses; and who will thrive in a vibrant, open-admissions environment.

Position responsibilities, knowledge and abilities:

  • Courses are taught at a variety of times and/or delivery modes including days, evenings, fully in-person, online asynchronous, and blended/hybrid in-person/online formats.
  • Design and teach courses in the Psychology program using teaching methods that support the success of diverse students.
  • Assess student learning and academic achievement at the course, department/program, and college levels.
  • Participate regularly in department meetings and in department responsibilities such as course scheduling, program reviews, program assessment, curricula development, transfer relationships and external partnerships.
  • Available and willing to be actively engaged in the college community and student success activities, such as advising the student Psychology club and promoting career exploration in psychology fields.
  • Participate in service to the college and the greater community, such as college-wide committees and community and professional networks.

Preferred Qualification
  • Earned doctorate in psychology or a closely related field.
  • Three years of teaching experience in a community college or five years teaching experience at the college level.
  • Experience teaching college students who are: first generation, English language learners, culturally, racially, linguistically, academically and neuro-diverse.
  • Documented experience with evidence-based, high-impact teaching practices and course designs for in-person, online asynchronous, and blended/hybrid delivery modalities.
