Job Summary: This position will provide administrative oversight and direction of Student Access Services Coordinators, to ensure adherence to the college's mission, vision, and values of ensuring equal access to the educational programs for students with disabilities and accommodative needs. The incumbent will manage a roster of students in addition to the duties of the director role. The incumbent ensures consistent and equitable services, academic and non-academic, to students needing institutional support related to temporary and persistent disabilities. The incumbent is responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff. The incumbent will also have direct oversight and administration of mental wellness programming and coordination of outsourced counseling contracted services for students.
This position reports to: Assistant Vice President Holistic Support and Engagement, ADA/504 Coordinator for Students and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Accessibility, Pregnancy and Parenting.

Minimum Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 4 years related experience.*
  • Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements:

Valid Driver's License

PA ACT-15 Clearances

Hiring Range: $56,122 - $71,556

Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree, Social Work, Counseling or related field with experience in providing accommodations and mental health wellness programming, in higher education. Experience with Federal and State Legal Guidance Regulations

Job Specific Task List:

  • Directs the administration of college adherence to institutional, federal, and state laws, and essential regulations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, PA Act 110 of 2018 for status as Certified Suicide Prevention Institution of Higher Education, and Part 86 of Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) consistent with HACC’s overall missions and strategic plans; identify and resolve problems; ensure consistent application of rules and regulations, and handle complex and high-level complaints or issues consulting with Assistant Vice President for Holistic Support and Engagement and ADA/504 Coordinator for Students. - (Essential)
  • Stay current with changes in equal access laws related to students with disabilities and/or essential accommodative needs and mental health and wellness programming. - (Essential)
  • Directs the operations of SAS Department through a combination of direct service and program coordination; develop, implement, monitor, and review tactical and operational plans, procedures, systems and support in accordance with the College’s strategic goals, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Hire, orientate, train, supervise, motivate and evaluate staff consistent with HACC’s organizational and strategic goals. The position will manage a roster of students in addition to the duties of the director role. - (Essential)
  • Develops and implements plan for college-wide training, development, advocacy, and education around supporting students within and outside of the classroom holistically, in coordination with Assistant Vice President for Holistic Support and Engagement and ADA/504 Coordinator for Students. - (Essential)
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with faculty, academic departments, advising department, and other related college offices, communicate with and/or provide trainings to students, faculty, staff and administrators on disability-related services and accommodations and mental health and wellness. - (Essential)
  • Provide to college leadership as needed, analysis and feedback on outcomes, policies and procedures regarding services for students and partnerships community organizations, including risk management. - (Essential)
  • Ensure contracted services such as ASL interpreting, Remote CART, Braille printing, Mental Health counseling contracts are maintained and budget is planned, prepared and monitored in keeping with the College strategic plans and objectives. - (Essential)
  • Travel to all HACC locations regularly, conduct regular group and individual meetings with Student Access Services staff, and consistently receive feedback from stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness of all activities - (Essential)
