Biology, Adjunct Faculty Pool
BARGAINING UNIT/NON-UNIT: MCCC/DCE Unit
SALARY RANGE: $1,397 to $1,688 per credit
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Teaches course(s) in one or more of the following subjects: Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Microbiology. In your application materials, please indicate the subjects you are interested in teaching. Classes meet online, in-person, or in a hybrid modality.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts classes;
- Prepares for instruction;
- Conducts lecture and laboratory sessions;
- Assesses student performance;
- Provides student assistance in-person and/or by virtual appointment; and
- Attends a limited number of faculty meetings.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*:
- Master's degree in Biology, or closely related field;
- Demonstrated successful experience working with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, with a range of academic abilities;
- Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of successful experience teaching biology courses at the college level;
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in a community college; and
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in and outside of the classroom.
