Class Description
CCBC is currently seeking an individual prepared to teach Anatomy and Physiology and General Biology lecture and lab courses. Experience teaching other biology courses preferred. Fifteen credit hours of instruction per semester, office hours, college and community service, and ongoing professional development are required. The position is located on one of our campuses but may require teaching classes at other locations scheduled during days, evenings or weekends.
Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching, experience at the Community College level, and those who through education and experience demonstrate ability to teach additional freshman and sophomore level biology courses referred. Master's degree in Biology or a related field with significant relevant coursework required. Must have two years of teaching Biology at the high school level or above.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students. Experience working with diverse populations in a learning environment and experience with the use of technology in teaching science.
Must be able to operate Biology laboratory equipment.
Must be prepared to teach Anatomy and Physiology and General Biology.
