This is a full-time position with day shift, generally 9am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, on the campus of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Our team of Pathology Lab Assistants are the backbone of support for our Histology Lab. In our state-of-the-art Histology lab, our Pathology Lab Assistants are always learning and training while maintaining accuracy with high volume of processing. This position is ideal for someone with pathology experience who is interested in the opportunity to train in histology.
The Pathology Lab Assistant is responsible for the following:
* Support of the Histology Lab
* Monitoring Histology worklist and pulling blocks
* Block and slide filing
* Changing of reagents on machines
* May cross-train in digital pathology
* Monitoring supply inventory and maintaining work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Detail oriented. Legible penmanship.
- Basic computer skills, especially data.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Background in science.
- Pathology experience
- Two years laboratory experience.
