Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position within our Marketing department to coordinate all aspects of project management related to the creative design, video, and photography requests submitted by campus partners. This includes intake, workflow, communications, and documentation to ensure that projects stay on track within the design team. Will serve as a liaison with vendors to achieve competitive pricing for printed projects and assist the Marketing team in designing and producing visual communication pieces that align with the College’s strategic goals and branding standards.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  •  Manage the Marketing project intake system; receive, review, and process initial project submissions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of print and digital design pieces and branding initiatives that meet the strategic communication objectives of the College
  • Initiate follow-up communications and production meetings necessary to outline the goals, timelines, parameters, and components under development to ensure projects are on track for completion
  • Assess production issues as they arise and determine the best resolution 
  • Foster and manage effective working relationships with vendors to secure accurate and competitive bids; compare vendor capabilities, pricing, and customer service and seek new vendors as required
  • Manage processes, documentation, and storage of equipment purchases, design supplies, and printed items
  • Assist in the creation of templates and designs for commonly used design pieces, graphics, advertisements, promotional items, and apparel
  • Coordinate apparel orders for College employees 

Requirements 

  • Associate degree in fine arts, graphic design, visual communication, creative technology, or related field; or equivalent education/experience
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, and Bridge)
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and the use of color in a layout
  • Dynamic portfolio that demonstrates a strong aesthetic sense, creativity, originality, and effective messaging
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve and to function professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact positively with students, College personnel, vendors and community members and receive constructive feedback with a positive attitude

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Print industry experience, including knowledge of latest industry equipment, techniques, paper options, variable data, finishes, bindery, basic color space, speed and capability of each print resource
  • Experience securing competitive quotes from qualified vendors based on knowledge of their capabilities, pricing and design requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to design within brand guidelines to maintain a unified and cohesive visual identity
  • Basic understanding of USPS postal regulations and related design requirements for mailings, as well as mailing list issues such as scrubbing and updating
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
