The Samaritan Counseling Center of the Southern Tier is seeking an Executive Director. The Board of Directors welcomes applications and inquiries.

Salary: $70,000 to $75, 000, commensurate with experience; Paid holidays & vacations

About the Samaritan Counseling Center:

● The Samaritan Counseling Center is a not-for-profit organization that provides therapy for individuals, couples,

and families in a diverse and inclusive environment regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or

religion.

● The staff consists of approximately 14 therapists plus 3 office staff, with plans to expand.

Essential functions of the Executive Director:

● Board Governance: Communicates effectively in a collaborative, timely and accurate manner all information

necessary for the board and staff to function properly and make informed decisions. Participates in meetings of the

board advisory committees and facilitates board development.

● Finances and Funding: Manages resources to ensure the financial health of the organization, including multiple

fund-raising strategies, successful grant applications, and development of a strong donor base. The Director

supervises financial records, develops and manages the budget, determines staff compensation and oversees

employee benefits. Creates and maintains a 3 year plan.

● Administration: Hires, supervises, and evaluates staff, oversees the maintenance of personnel records, conducts

staff meetings, acts as Compliance Officer for HIPAA, HITECH and Red Flag policies, develops policies and procedures

for all aspects of the Center’s operations, handles training for different areas such as sexual harassment prevention,

cultural competency, insurance. Creates and fosters a team-building approach with strong and consistent

collaboration with staff.

● Technology: Utilizes technology to both provide and enable services such as telehealth , billing software, Electronic Health Records and to market services to the community.

● Facilities: Oversees maintenance of the facility, including building repairs, grounds maintenance, security, and

housekeeping.

● Community Education, Public Relations, and Marketing: Represents the Center to the larger community through

marketing and public relations, networking, and the development of education programs.

Requirements:

● Advanced degree (MA, MS, or PhD).

● Demonstrated skill/experience in securing grant funding, fund-raising and donor development.

● Human resource management and supervision experience, preferably with a non-profit organization.

● Ability to learn and apply health-related technologies and databases.

● Commitment to fostering a strong positive working relationship with the Board of Directors. (Previous

experience with a not-for-profit Board is desirable.)

● Ability and interest in creating partnerships with community sponsors and resources.

● Commitment to strong ethical values to ensure that agency standards are consistently maintained.

● A leadership style that fosters communication and respectful collaboration with all staff and that commits to a team ethos throughout the organization.
