Description: We are seeking a Junior Contract Specialist with specialized expertise in federal acquisition and contract management for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role requires extensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other relevant procurement regulations and is essential to supporting major DoD and Navy acquisition initiatives. The Senior Contract Specialist will independently manage and execute the full lifecycle of contracting tasks, from initial planning through contract administration.
Contract Compliance Support:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and DoD 5000 series.
- Gain hands-on experience by supporting contracting tasks for Navy and DoD acquisition programs.
Contract Documentation Preparation:
- Prepare and assist with essential contract documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs), and DD-254 forms.
- Help develop Acquisition Plans, Justifications & Approvals, and Determinations & Findings under senior team member supervision.
Market Research and Acquisition Planning:
- Support market research activities and acquisition planning to inform contract strategies and program objectives.
- Assist with cost and price analysis and the source selection process.
Contract Administration Assistance:
- Support contract administration by preparing Procurement Requests in Navy ERP, handling Modification Requests, and drafting Technical Direction Letters.
- Assist in monitoring contract performance and ensuring timely delivery of required deliverables.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience with DoD or federal contracting, ideally with exposure to FAR/DFARS regulations.
- Experience supporting Navy acquisition programs is a plus.
Certifications:
- DAWIA Level I in Contract Management or working towards DAWIA Level II, or equivalent (e.g., CFCM) preferred.
