Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Advising & LifeMap, the Pathway Coach will use an equity-based and student-centered philosophy, to help students stay engaged and on track to complete their academic program. In addition to assisting students with exploring career interests and the development of a Financial-Academic-Career (FAC) Plan, the Pathway Coach will track students' academic progress, and provide support at key junctures. The Pathway Coach will also participate in the facilitation of Steps to Success (STS) workshops and building of group identity through social networking and participation in BHCC Pathways related co-curricular events and activities.

Specific Duties:


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience and/or training involving advising, counseling and/or student recruitment and retention; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of student development concepts and principles.
  • Experience utilizing coaching strategies with first-generation or historically marginalized populations.
  • Proficient user of student information or customer management systems.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work 3 days on campus. including one evening per week.
  • Ability to work at least 1 Saturday per month during peak registration.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $68,201.00 - $73,477.00 Actual Salary will be Commensurate with Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State Benefits.

Grade: 5 Unit-Professional position
