The Pet Cancer Foundation’s vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates suggest the number of dogs and cats developing cancer every year is 12 million; roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.

As the organization continues to work towards the accomplishment of our mission, the PCF team includes professionals contributing virtually across Canada, the United States, and several other countries worldwide. As we grow and require technological solutions to support our many efforts, we're in need of experienced Systems Administrators to join our team. That’s where and how you can help us.

About the Position - VOLUNTEER

The Senior Recruitment Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned business units, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and evaluating candidates for vacation positions across the organization. The Senior Recruitment Specialist also works with the Leadership team to assist in the development and implementation of recruiting plans in alignment with the Pet Cancer Foundation’s short and long-term strategic objectives. The Senior Recruitment Specialist may also lead recruitment processes for senior level positions across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

● Source, screen and interview candidates for positions, assessing for technical knowledge and cultural fit, while managing the candidate experience and gauging interest for current and future positions.

● Work with hiring managers to understand their recruiting needs/pain points and develop plans to meet those needs.

● Evaluate skills of potential candidates and ensure they meet required skillsets to achieve the job responsibilities and Pet Cancer Funds long and short-term goals.

● Build a strong pipeline of active and passive candidates for recurring and hard-to-fill roles through various recruitment strategies.

● Provide guidance and feedback to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process and share knowledge about best practices to help recruit the best suited volunteers to the organization.

● Provide a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process and communicate information about Pet Cancer Fund and our mission to help ensure new volunteers feel welcome and will be a good fit with the organization.

● Represent the Recruitment department on major projects, and lead continuous improvement efforts around recruitment processes, including better organization of our human and technological resources.

About You

You have strong communication and networking skills in order to attract and build relationships with potential candidates looking to join the Pet Cancer Fund team. You are organized and have good time management skills to work in a dynamic environment, with a strong orientation towards achieving results. You are a team player who is able to work autonomously and supervise a small team in a virtual environment. You have:

● A degree or certification in Human Resource Management or related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience;

● 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, experience recruiting Medical, Executive and Senior Management roles would be an asset

● 3+ years’ experience and success in active recruiting (headhunting)

● Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools and comfortable working in Google Documents;

● Experience managing a full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and evaluating candidates to asses their fit for the position and the organization;

● Ability to demonstrate a high-level of tact and professionalism when acting as a representative of the organization;

● Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines on a weekly basis.

● This position is virtual and can be completed from anywhere in Canada or the United States.

● This is a volunteer position and the time commitment is approximately 6-8 hours per week.

● Some projects are deadline dependent and may require more hours from time to time, flexibility is a must.

● This is a volunteer position that could potentially lead into other roles within the organization.
