Job Title- FACULTY-ENERGY TECHNOLOGY-WRTTC
Position Status- Full Time
Classification Title- Faculty-10 month
Work Location- WRTTC-1309 W. I-10, Fort Stockton, TX
Job Summary- Teach material from the approved curriculum and develop daily lesson plans, including instructional aids. Participate in school retention initiatives by providing regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc. Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. Complete professional development and in-service activities in accordance with college standards. Maintain expertise in subject area and recommend improvements in curriculum design. Provide instructional support to the chair, dean, and students.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field
- Minimum three years of related work experience
- Computer literate
- Communication skills with public speaking and organizational skills
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), Automation, Instrumentation, and Process Control equipment
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary setting
Essential Functions
- Develop and teach courses offered in the Petroleum Energy Technology Program in both the college and high school dual program
- Demonstrate safe and effective use of all lab equipment
- Prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the students
- Work with representatives of local businesses to further the program and enhance the instructional resources
- Attend advisory committee meetings
- Participate in recruiting, advising, and counseling activities
- Work may require split day and evening work schedule
- Fulfill faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Policy and Administrative Regulations published in the Faculty and Employee Handbooks
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to move from office to classroom occasionally
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
- This position may require occasional travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Duties may include work indoors and some outdoors
- Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events
- This position may require a split workday and/or an evening work schedule
Security Sensitivity- All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
Min Salary- $61,161 per year
Max Salary- $74,750 per year
Pay Statement- Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
