Are you looking for a career that will make an impact?Leidos is currently seeking a part-time Research Assistant to support the Clinical Research Program within the Psychological Health and Readiness Department at the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, CA. This position will support multiple research studies focused on the prevention and treatment of mental health concerns among service members.
Are you ready for unique and exciting work?This is a part-time position and is a hybrid work schedule: eligible to partially work remote with a requirement to work on-site at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. Typically 1-2 times every week working at the customer site, day of the week may vary. The number of days on-site may vary depending on training and office needs.Telework schedule subject to change based on program and customer requirements. Work hours to coincide with the standard command business hours of 0700-1630.
The Research Assistant will complete a variety of tasks in support of the Clinical Research Program, and will work collaboratively with the research team, which includes Principal Investigators, clinical research psychologists, research scientists, data analysts, subject matter experts, and external collaborators. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to take initiative, manage time well, and work effectively both independently and in a team environment. The Research Assistant must also possess excellent interpersonal skills to successfully work within a collaborative research team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conducting literature searches
Summarizing findings of published studies
Compiling reference lists
Coordinating with hospital staff or military units to schedule meetings or data collection
Preparing study materials
Assisting with regulatory processes
Assisting with study documentation
Recruiting study participants
Administering surveys
Conducting interviews and focus groups
Performing data entry and data management
Reviewing and contributing to study and educational materials
Reviewing and contributing to reports, manuscripts, and presentations
Attending team meetings
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree (or within 1 semester of completing bachelor's degree) in relevant social science field (e.g., psychology, public health)
Basic familiarity with military structures, ranks, and systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in presenting and speaking to small groups
Experience in conducting literature searches
Excellent writing skills - writing sample(s) may be requested
Ability to work cooperatively in a group setting
This is a hybrid role with in person and telework responsibilities
Due to contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and will be required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of research experience with human subjects
Experience or familiarity with the military medical system
Prior military experience (particularly in the fields of corpsman, medic, psych tech, pharmacy tech or similar occupational specialty with exposure to medical and psychological duties and personnel)
Research experience with service members or veterans
Familiarity with research processes and procedures
