Inventory Control Lead

Job Description

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for the inspection of all incoming material or supplies used in the production of alloys or resale products to ensure compliance with appropriate standards. Assures that all finished material leaving the factory have passed all quality testing, and that records are complete before releasing finished products to the Finished Inventory Department. Certifies adequate levels of materials and product inventories are maintained, received, stored, and/or shipped with a high degree of accuracy. Develops processes and maintains metrics related to inventory control.

The day-to-day:

  • Assists leadership by assigning goals to align Argen objectives and strategies.
  • Manages customer backorders, inventory, and shipment issues in a timely fashion.
  • Leads the reconciliation process of material inventories.
  • Reports any issues to the reporting manager in a timely manner.
  • Ensures teams are following all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure team meets daily Service Level Agreement (SLA) expectations.
  • Clearly communicate instructions and operational expectations to team members.
  • Inspects all incoming alloy production material/supplies or resale products to ensure compliance with appropriate standards, assuring finished material have passed all quality testing, records are completed and updated, before releasing finished products to the Finished Inventory department.
  • Receives, inspects, and controls materials at various stages of alloy production process.
  • Records inventory movement and transactions in QAD.
  • Verifies all transactions and records are correct and updated.
  • Performs data entry to perform transfers and generate paperwork.
  • Maintains records following established procedures.
  • Receives and controls customer returns, scrap, and non-conforming products.
  • Controls all incoming and outgoing laboratory samples.
  • Releases material to the Finished Inventory department.
  • Inspects and ensures that incoming material meets appropriate standards and is from an accepted/approved vendor.
  • Inspects all finished products leaving the factory to confirm that all preset standards are met.
  • Dispositions all non-conforming products and scrap materials.
  • Inspects the integrity and weight of every in the controlled environment.
  • Completes all necessary paper work and maintains the appropriate records.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in department and area.
  • Inspects product quality, troubleshoots, and escalates issues when necessary.
  • Clearly communicates instructions and operational expectations to team members.
  • Assists in authoring and/or revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI) as needed.
  • Trains new team members on all SOPs and Work Instructions and QAD in area.
  • Ensures safety guidelines followed by all team members.

  • Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
