Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Financial Aid Director of Operation, the Financial Aid Coordinator will assist the Financial Aid Staff with performing all phases of daily system operation and will be the primarily tasked with managing daily operations in the administration and awarding of federal, state and Institutional aid programs. The Financial Aid Coordinator will monitor Peoplesoft software job sets for aspect of Financial Aid Office. A successful candidate will posses critical thinking and problem-solving skills, promote a positive work environment within the financial aid office, with other departments within the college and externally with outside agencies and will also have an appreciation for working with diverse population.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the implementation and management of the MASFA (Massachusetts Application for State Financial Aid) application and process;
- Responsible for running reports to identify discrepancies and collaborates with team to identify issues;
- Assist with managing the state financial aid programs;
- Prepare and review compliance, error, reconciliation, and other financial aid related reports;
- Responsible for query and SQL building;
- Responsible to upkeep the Peoplesoft Job Sets and processes;
- Responsible to monitor Peoplesoft Job fail and trouble shoot with the assistance of IT helpdesk;
- Award federal and state financial aid in compliance with established federal, state, and local regulations and procedures;
- Serve as the liaison between the Foundations office and the Financial Aid Office to assist with managing scholarships;
- Assist with managing other external awards;
- Assist Director of FA Operations with reviewing technical jobs and other system processes;
- Work with appropriate college personnel related to financial aid programs (Student Accounts Office, Registration Office, & Admissions Office);
- Assist with open houses, financial aid workshops, and various types of financial aid presentations on any or all campus locations;
- Support students applying for financial aid;
- Assist office with in person staff coverage as needed;

- Responsible for maintaining currency in all aspects of financial aid;
- Work with appropriate College personnel as related to financial aid programs (Student Accounts Office, Registration Office, & Admissions Office);
- Maintain confidential student records;
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, Business, Accounting, Human Services, Sociology, or closely related field; with two (2) years experience and/or training involving financial aid operations, loan processing, and computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
- Experience working in a diverse environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
- Possess prior working/technical experience with computerized financial aid systems required;
- Demonstrated experience in creating queries and technical report writing;
- Possess strong analytical and organizational skills and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to work flexible hours/shifts preferred and willing to travel to all campuses (Wellesley Hills, Framingham and Ashland);
- Experience working with PeopleSoft is strongly preferred;
- Demonstrated knowledge and competency with computerized financial aid applications in a network environment;
- Ability to provide clear and concise written and oral instruction.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $74,383.00 - $83,182, in accordance with one's education and experience as dictated by the collective bargaining agreement classification compensation structure.
