Job Description

Grays Harbor College (GHC) is seeking applications from creative, engaging, and diverse professionals for our part-time accounting position. Courses may be online, hybrid, or in-person depending on student demand and instructor availability. Courses include accounting courses that support GHC’s Accounting Degrees.

This is a part-time, non-tenure-track position and not eligible for benefits. The part-time compensation for classroom instruction shall be $910.16 per quarter load hour. Faculty positions at Grays Harbor College have been designated as bargaining unit positions represented by the Grays Harbor College Federation of Teachers, Local 4984. The faculty union and the college have a bargaining unit agreement (referred to as the contract) that is posted on the GHC website at https://www.ghc.edu/hr/labor-relations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Be able to teach a variety of accounting classes.
  • Provide consistent and timely feedback to students.
  • Develop and deliver course content to meet student learning outcomes.
  • Assess learning and skill acquisition.
  • Maintain organized, accessible content in Canvas learning management system.
  • Provide support and/or direction to resources for struggling students.
  • Deploy inclusive pedagogy for an accessible course experience that fosters a sense of belonging.
  • Coordinate syllabi, textbooks, etc. with primary accounting professor and division chair.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's Degree in Accounting or related field with work experience.
  • Some teaching experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) License, Certified Management Accountant (CMA) License other accounting certifications, or 3 years of work experience in the field.
  • College teaching experience including online and hyflex modalities.
  • Experience with instructional technologies.
  • Experience cultivating a culture of equity and inclusion, in classrooms and academic environments with multiculturalism and ethnic diversity.
