2025 Internship - Acoustic or Electromagnetic Sensors and Systems
Job Description
DescriptionDo you want to learn more about sound in the ocean?
Do you enjoy analyzing data to understand how well computer modeling can capture real-world physics?
If you’re pursuing a degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering or Applied Mathematics or a similar major and want to gain experience in modeling acoustic or electromagnetic wave propagation, we’d love to have you join our team!
We are seeking an intern to help us design acoustic or electromagnetic sensors and systems. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to modeling sensor system performance, analyzing experimental data, and comparing measured results to modeled predictions. You will be joining a hardworking team of engineers and scientists who take acoustic and electromagnetic sensor systems from concept to reality in support of U.S. homeland security. Our team is committed to solving new and evolving challenges as we strive to foster a collaborative environment of continuous learning.
As a member of our team...
- Your primary responsibility will be contributing to acoustic sensor system performance modeling for undersea projects.
- You will work with a team to write code to improve or extend models of acoustic wave propagation in the ocean and to analyze sensor system data.
- You will share your results with the team, contributing to the development and continual improvement of systems for the U.S. Navy.
