Job Description
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR, Earth, Atmospheric & Planetary Sciences, to advise and assist faculty and staff with human resources (HR) matters and act as a liaison with central HR. Will administer HR activities, including all appointment administration, searches, orientation, performance management and development, employee relations, and compensation; advise faculty and staff on complex HR issues, resolving and referring as appropriate; develop and implement new policies and procedures in collaboration with departmental leadership and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; advise on visa processing and ensure appropriate visas are secured; act as liaison to the International Scholars Office; manage the annual salary review process for sponsored research staff, support staff and other academic staff; partner with the Dean’s Office and Compensation on the classification process including promotional, market equity, off-cycle pay increases, and salary offers; promote a diverse workforce; provide employee relations guidance; process all HR transactions; and perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least four years of HR experience; in-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and current HR principles, practices, and trends; excellent oral,written communication, computer skills and advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe; and familiarity with compensation guidelines and salary ranges. PREFERRED: SPHR or PHR and familiarity with MIT Personnel Policy Manual and human resources guidelines. Job #24521-9

Salary range is $90,000-$120,000
