Job Description
Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
- Perform complex technical and statistical data analysis and communicate findings to stakeholders such as state and local boards, the College Foundation, senior administrators, the VCCS System office, the public, students, parents, and other schools, faculty, staff, special interest groups, and subject professionals to provide educational information and technical assistance, to discuss career opportunities to assess interests and promote programs.
- Communicate with students in the target population on a weekly basis. Engage in individual and small student group sessions.
- Interact with faculty and other on and off-campus resources to ensure that students have access to needed resources and support that will lead to program completion.
- Provide outreach to all College students who have a reported need.
- Assist students in the target population to develop individualized academic plans, and apply for financial aid and scholarships.
- Identify academic and personal needs and make referrals to tutoring, other learning support resources, and community resources. Provide follow-up with each student as needed.
- Project planning and applying financial and grant management principles.
- Preparing grant-required reports and reporting by designated deadlines.
- Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
- Serve on college committees or other areas as needed by the College.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Willingness to travel between college locations throughout the service region. Proficient working knowledge of internet applications and PC-based software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and email (Microsoft Office preferred).
