Primary Purpose:

Oversee Talent Acquisition strategies for full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employment branding, and internal talent movement for all levels of employees, including represented and non-represented. Oversee workforce planning strategies and programs aligned with SDG&E's initiatives and workforce needs. Direct and manage the budget, performance, and development of the Talent Acquisition team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Talent Acquisition strategies for full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employment branding, and internal talent movement for all levels of employees, including represented and non-represented. Builds collaborative partnerships with clients, peers, and external stakeholders to enhance the talent acquisition function.
  • Establishes short-term and long-term workforce planning and program initiatives and objectives, consistent with SDG&E's strategic priorities. Leads the implementation of the college recruitment programs, including on-campus recruitment schedules/activities and participation at external events. Develops and maintains partnerships with external stakeholders to develop programs that deepen talent pipelines and advance diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, direction, coaching, training, and motivation to build and maintain a high-performing Talent Acquisition team.
  • Identifies and mitigates risk to ensure union and non-union hiring process is compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, OFCCP and Affirmative Action, and collective bargaining agreements and internal policies related to talent acquisition and workforce readiness functions. Manages budget, vendor contract management, field business card purchases, and approving POs/invoices for Talent Acquisition.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Hybrid Schedule:

  • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business, public relations or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years progressive human resources experience in large organization including knowledge of federal and state labor law.
  • 3 years experience with talent acquisition.
  • 3 years prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of current California and Federal labor law.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, HRIS systems and ATS.
  • Communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to be a strong leader while still being a team player with the ability to step in and recruit for management or professional positions.
  • Ability to lead teams, influencing outcomes and successful project completions.
  • Ability to be a skilled negotiator who can liaise between hiring manager and candidate while staying within appropriate terms and conditions guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP) experience.
  • Master's Degree in human resources or business administration.
  • Professional Human Resources certification.
