Department Overview

Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) plays an integral role in the success of Michigan Medicine by providing clinicians, educators, researchers, students, and staff with exceptional technology-related information, products, services, and support. 

Division Overview

The HITS Clinical & Revenue Cycle IT (CRC) division is responsible for more than 350 clinical and revenue cycle applications that clinicians, staff, and patients rely upon daily. The CRC team has subdivisions that support inpatient, surgical, anesthesia, ambulatory, departmental, and revenue cycle areas across Michigan Medicine. CRC also oversees many of the major IT platforms and applications such as the electronic health record, virtual care, pharmacy, radiology, radiation oncology, registration, document management, billing, and much more. 

The CRC team is highly relied upon across the healthcare system and collaborates with operational partners to provide excellent service to the Michigan Medicine staff. Team members within CRC interact with customers on a regular basis by implementing and configuring workflows, enhancements, optimizations, and new modules or software while also ensuring adequate change control and testing processes occur. Team members work on a vast array of projects that propel Michigan Medicine into the future. The HITS MiChart OpTime Anesthesia team at Michigan Medicine is seeking a candidate to fulfill the role of Business Systems Analyst Intermediate.

Job Summary

The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center; and high-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000-square-foot hospital which also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is fall 2025.

HITS seeks a Business Analyst to support the anesthesia/operating rooms/surgical services, interventional procedure rooms, diagnostic vascular unit, cardiac cath and EP labs. Primary responsibilities include supporting and maintaining the Epic OpTime and Anesthesia, as well as third party software used by anesthesia, operating and procedure rooms. The Application Coordinator is the primary support contact for the applications. As an Anesthesia/OpTime analyst, this person works with clients to translate surgical related workflows to Epic functionality, identify gaps, and provide mutually agreeable solutions to close workflow gaps. Provides support to clinical users by adapting software to meet their needs through knowledge processes, documentation needs, workflows, and practice standards.
