Sr. Research Program Coordinator
Job Description
The Brockie Research Team at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator for research, education, and capacity building projects on the Fort Belknap and Fort Peck Reservations. The Sr. Research Coordinator will work on a variety of projects that utilize a multi-level approach, informed by community engagement and Indigenous Methods, to promote youth wellness and prevent youth suicide, in partnership with Indigenous communities. In collaboration with an engaged research team across sites in Baltimore, Fort Peck and Fort Belknap, the Sr. Research Coordinator will ensure study ethical requirements, protocols, and policies are followed throughout project implementation.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Study coordination
- Drafting research protocols (research plans, consent/recruitment materials and assessments).
- Creating and maintaining documents related to study coordination (policies and procedures manuals, study tracking logs, and study timelines).
- Providing training for field-based study staff on evaluation instruments, human subjects protection, confidentiality, informed consent, recruitment procedures, and program protocol for reservation-based study staff.
- Assisting with reporting requirements to various funding agencies and IRBs.
- Tracking timelines and budget information.
- Scheduling and facilitating regular calls with the study team to monitor progress, address challenges, and celebrate successes.
- Provide updates on current progress of the study as requested.
- Regular travel to Fort Peck and Fort Belknap sites, located in Montana, to support on on-site study team members in project implementation, data collection, and data dissemination.
- Assist with preparation for and coordination of Tribal Advisory Board meetings.
Development and adaptation of interventions
- Work with Tribal partners to adapt intervention materials for cultural relevance.
- Develop associated materials including policies and procedures manuals, train-the-trainers manuals, reference manuals and bibliography, activity binders, trainee binders, participant workbooks, and other training materials.
- Train field staff in curricular materials.
- Conduct regular quality assurance on curricula delivery by field staff.
Program planning and publication writing
- Assist with preparation and writing of federally- and foundation-funded grants.
- Assist with preparation of presentations for conferences and writing of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
Data management and program evaluation
- Track and report adverse events to IRBs and funders, as required.
- Coordinate study data safety monitoring boards.

- Current driver’s license issued by the state of residence and good driving record required.
- This position will maintain background clearance as required by the employer and any collaborating agencies.
- Ability to travel as needed to reservation-based research sites in Montana, including overnight trips for extended days.
- Some evenings, weekends, and holiday work will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Three years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Native American populations.
- Experience working in rural and remote reservation settings.
- Master’s degree in public health, nursing, or related discipline.
- One to two years research coordination or research experience in nursing, public or mental health.
Classified Title: Sr. Research Program Coordinator
Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MB
Starting Salary Range: $41,300 - $72,300 Annually ($66,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
Employee group: Full Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 (some weekends, evenings, & holiday's may be required)
