Job Description
Sigma Defense is seeking a Network Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) with at least 8 years of experience in network and satellite communications, including expertise in SATCOM on-the-move.
The selected candidate will support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and United States Marine Corps (USMC) Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) programs by providing technical guidance, optimizing transport infrastructure, and developing robust communication solutions.

- 8+ years of network and satellite communication experience.
- Previous experience with SATCOM on-the-move.
- Must have the ability to work on-site In Lexington Park, Maryland USA (NAS- Pax River).
Preferred Experience:
- Cisco CCNA (or higher)
- CISSP
- PMP
- ISR experience
Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active, DoD issued TS/SCI security clearance.
- A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field of study.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 10+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
Software/Programs Experience:
- Familiarity with command line interfaces (CLI), with a preference for experience in Cisco or Linux systems.
Preferred Certifications:
- Preferred certifications include CCNA, CISSP, and PMP.
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
- Advise and assist NAVAIR and USMC program offices with the assessment, analysis, and development of communications capabilities in support of AISR programs.
- Optimize transport infrastructure for AISR systems, with a significant emphasis on USMC operations.
- Engineer solutions in satellite communications, cyber security, and integration of robust communication networks tailored to USMC needs.
- Seek out and evaluate emergent technologies to determine their relevance and applicability to the USMC's AISR program.
- Provide operational and technical insight in order to develop strategic roadmaps, basing actions, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS).
- Quantify risks and establish Courses of Action (COAs) relating to platform communications such as SATCOM, LOS spectrum, terrestrial backhaul, and administrative networks.
- Collaborate with the DoD and Combat Support Agencies to identify redundant efforts and potential partnership opportunities. Also, stay informed of any positive or negative impacts on the Enterprise resulting from proposed initiatives or changes.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 annually.
