The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is currently hiring for the position of Retail Associate (Temporary/On-call) within the department of Au Bon Pain Hesburgh Library. The University Operations, Events, and Safety division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Retail Associate will be responsible for the providing excellent customer service for our guests while ensuring a CLEAN, FAST and FRIENDLY café environment. This position is trained to assist with any guest’s expectations. Is the first and last impression for our guests. Located towards the front of every café, the cashier is the person responsible for speaking with every guest on both their way in and out of the café, directing traffic, and collecting payment for all purchases. The cashier is also responsible for helping to keep the café stocked with all products.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Competent food industry skills including the use of kitchen equipment such as but not limited to slicers, fryers, ovens, grills, espresso machines, steamers, blenders and knives;
Understand food safety practices and respond to HAACP and the ability to read and follow recipes; Friendly and personable with a variety of personality types.

Preferred Qualifications
