Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
Responsibilities
Position is responsible for providing clerical support for the Enrollment Management team including processing of admissions applications, data entry, drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, and assisting with events. Position is the first point of contact for prospective students and visitors and provides assistances in admissions processes. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.

Essential Duties
- Processes admission applications, acceptance letters, and other informational forms into Banner software.
- Performs clerical duties including correspondence, organize travel arrangements, setting up campus appointments, scheduling of visits for prospective students and maintains office and equipment supply inventory in alignment with departmental budget.
- Greets visitors, prospective students, and callers with courtesy and respect and assists with their inquiries or directs them to the appropriate person/department.
- Supervision of student workers including Ambassadors and Presidential Scholars for work and preparing them to give campus tours and in office fundamentals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a
business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training
or apprenticeship program. Bachelor’s preferred.
Six months to two years of similar or related experience, i.e. clerical work, coordinating
events, and recordkeeping.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Selection Process
