Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $74,100 - $195,000. The posted UC academic salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/2024-25-academic-salary-scales.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. Position description

The Department of Neurosciences (https://neurosciences.ucsd.edu/index.html) within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is seeking Project Scientists.

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigators, the Project Scientists will work independently and will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing, managing, and conducting experiments
  • Training and teaching students and others in the field of study
  • Leading and making innovative and significant contributions to the project(s)
  • Participating in and presenting at scientific meetings
  • Writing scientific reports, manuscripts, and grants for submission and/or publication

Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist level based on background and years of experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have a MD or equivalent, or a doctoral degree in neurosciences, basic sciences or other related health disciplines.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with 1+ publications are preferred.
