Per Diem Operating Room Administrative Assistant - 128481

DESCRIPTION

Under direction, responsible for all administrative support to Operating Room Assistant Director, Nurse Managers and Supervisors. Makes operational decisions within policy. Provides information or reports to managers to be used in resource determination and allocation. Provides reception and administrative functions for the Jacobs Medical Center, Thornton Hospital, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center Operating Rooms, and the Outpatient Surgery Center, as needed. Facilitates urgent changes in the OR schedule and schedules surgical cases. Monitors status of all surgery cases and provide pertinent information to the management, charge nurses, surgeons, anesthesia providers, staff, families and other regarding ongoing OR activity.

Processes and tracks various Facilities requests. Assists with the maintenance of employee time and attendance documentation and entry of call hours. Prepares and distributes numerous reports, daily and weekly correspondence and presentations as assigned. Assists with general office duties, including answering phones, typing, copying, faxing, filing and ordering supplies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

This Per Diem position will be the administrative assistant support for the Jacobs Medical Center's operating room (OR) department and will have a VARIABLE schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years recent administrative experience in Operating Room (or similar healthcare environment), with a variety of surgical cases.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess effective time management skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Highly detail-oriented.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively and equitably with others.
PREEFRRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
  • Database management experience. Working knowledge of EPIC/OpTime system, and ORSOS.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $65,396 - $65,396 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $31.32 - $31.32

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
