Job Designation

The Quality Supervisor leads the Quality Inspection (QI) Team in all areas of quality assurance activities. They ensure that products meet the quality standards of materials and workmanship as set forth by the quality assurance and/or engineering functions. The Quality Supervisor ensures compliance to Parker Standard Procedures and Work Instructions.

Job Core Responsibilities

* The primary duties of this job require management of a team, supervising 2 or more full time employees (or equivalent). Responsibilities include:

o hiring and firing subordinate employees (or effectively recommending such decisions), interviewing, selecting, and training employees.

o conducting regular performance appraisal to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach business goals.

o setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work;

o directing employees' work and maintaining production records for use in supervision;

o appraising employees' productivity and efficiency for recommending promotions or other changes in status.

o handling employee complaints and grievances; disciplining employees;

o assigning work among employees;

o providing for the safety and security of the employees.

o Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance is required.

* Supervises the Quality Inspection Team on the inspection of raw materials, processes, parts, assemblies, finished parts and machined parts to assure quality products. Plans tasks and schedules efficiently and effectively. Review data and information and make accept/reject decisions about Products, Processes, and Validations.

* Provides quality expertise and training for all inspection positions in order to maintain a smooth flowing operation, including in operation of Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM)

* Promotes working relationships between inspection personnel and other departments.

* Maintains and tracks quality KPI for the purposes of analysis, control, and management reports.

* Conducts other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specifications

Education : Post-Secondary degree in Quality Assurance or equivalent of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications : ASQ Certified Inspector and GD&T certified or the equivalent experience in related field preferred.

Years Experience: 5 - 7 years or more of relevant experience including supervisory responsibilities.

Skills :

* Proven ability to plan and direct technical efforts to meet quality targets

* Effective interpersonal skills to influence and lead a team

* Skilled at performing examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components and parts on all types of standard and special products

* Experienced in analyzing and determining quality methods and procedures

* Demonstrated good judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.

* Ability to operate and program CMM equipment is a plus.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $70K-$115K
