About the Role:

Responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of advanced security solutions to protect the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves strategic planning, collaboration with global IT and teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Principal Cyber Security Engineer will act as a subject matter expert, guiding the organization's security posture and responding to sophisticated threats across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Design and implement robust security architectures for cloud and on-premises environments

  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and practices

  • Conduct regular user access reviews and implement remediation plans

  • Oversee the deployment and management of data loss prevention (DLP) tools

  • Develop policies for data encryption, classification, and handling

  • Develop and manage Security Operations Center (SOC) playbooks for incident response and threat hunting

  • Perform advanced threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and risk management

  • Implement security information and event management (SIEM) solutions

  • Conduct real-time security monitoring and incident triage

  • Lead incident response efforts and forensic investigations

  • Provide expertise on securing SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS environments

  • Ensure compliance with cloud security frameworks and best practices

  • Maintain documentation and policies for cloud security

  • Lead efforts to improve network security through continuous monitoring and configuration management

  • Work closely with global IT and teams to address security threats and vulnerabilities

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior security team members

  • Lead cybersecurity projects from conception to implementation

  • Support internal and external cybersecurity audits

  • Report on project status, risks, and outcomes to senior management

  • Conduct regular security reviews and recommend improvements

  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree and 6+ years of related work experience utilizing comprehensive knowledge of cloud network systems and network management tools, as well as extensive experience (minimum 2 years) with Azure and AWS OR

  • Master's degree and 4+ years of similar experience as noted above

  • One or more professional certifications desired: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Deep understanding of the organization's business objectives and services

  • Ability to align security initiatives with business goals

  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Extensive experience with EDR, email security, SOC, and incident response processes

  • Proficiency with SIEM solutions and advanced security monitoring tools

  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and security best practices

  • Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation

  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.)

  • In-depth knowledge of security solutions including VPNs, email gateways, DLP, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and DNS security

  • Demonstrated expertise in researching and mitigating current hacking techniques and cybercrime

  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800, CIS, etc.)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows and Linux security settings and controls

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $127,500.00-$184,800.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
