Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a VP, Clinic Operations to work under direction of the President with operational oversight in planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of clinic operations. Responsible for integrating programs and systems to facilitate service delivery, improve efficiency, and enhance patient care. Ensure clinic sites are providing efficient and high-quality patient care. Participate in long term planning, and implementation of services in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor clinic operations to ensure both services and patient care are at the highest level of quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Clinic Operations team in determining the need for new or expanded services.
  • Recruit, train, develop, engage, and retain an accountable workforce.
  • Coach and counsel staff and administer appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and evaluation of clinic operational staff.
  • Continuously evaluate employee placement and performance to ensure each clinic has the skills and experience in place for current and future operations.
  • Monitor the attainment of goals and budget projections while contributing to the fiscal health of clinic operations.
  • Continuously monitor staffing levels, job design, and employee assignments to ensure the overlap of sufficient knowledge and skills by cross-training and succession planning.
  • Develop and administer performance management strategies to include measuring appropriate performance standards and metrics.
  • Responsible for the oversight of clinic operations' financial performance, utilizing data reported through analytics.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Executive Clinic Operations team to ensure the operating policies, procedures and systems at all sites are implemented and monitored in support of FHCSD mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
  • May be responsible for other programs as assigned.
  • Communicate direction to leadership regarding operational activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the operating policies, procedures and systems at clinic sites are implemented and monitored in support of the company's mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Executive Clinic Operations team and Director of Risk Management in reviewing incidents, patient complaints, assessing root cause, developing countermeasures, and ensuring satisfactory resolution of all patients, client and community complaints regarding care and services.
  • Responsible for the development and publication of high-level reporting to the EMC on IR trends, countermeasures, system changes and linked staff training programs.
  • Serve on the selection committee to recruit Associate Clinic Director Interns. Assist with their onboarding process, and mentor their leadership development.
  • Respond to regulation initiatives and performance, changing regulations in the healthcare landscape and in state and federal funding methodologies. Work with EMC to execute immediate changes, as needed.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, identify gaps, ensure business operates within the established framework of FHCSD; monitor the adherence of policies and procedures across designated clinic sites.
  • Participate in setting short and long-range strategic and financial goals and action plans for the organization.
  • Foster a positive, success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization.
  • Function as a professional advisor and mentor to new leaders and potential leaders in the organization.
  • Ensure applicable regulatory and department requirements are adhered to on an on-going basis (The Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.).
  • Utilize Lean principles and strategies to promote integration of services.
  • Lead, educate, coach and mentor others on LEAN continuous process improvement philosophy, tools, and application to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • RN or bachelor's degree in a related field with 10 years managerial experience or master's level education with 7 years of experience in health care management preferred.
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Age 21; Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.
  • At least 5 years of experience overseeing health care services required with preference for ambulatory medical clinics.
  • Experience as a Clinic Director preferred.
  • Bilingual (Read, Write, & Speak) in English/ Spanish preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer and patient satisfaction with strong service recovery skills.
  • Demonstrated history of collaborating with physicians and other providers preferred.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

169,703.00 - 259,584.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
