Job Description

This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health Sciences encompasses UC San Diego Health, the region's only academic health system, UC San Diego School of Medicine, one of the nation's top research-intensive medical schools, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Southern California's first public school of pharmacy, and Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. UC San Diego Health Sciences' mission is to deliver outstanding patient care through commitment to the community, groundbreaking research and inspired teaching.

The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD's School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates.

Under the general direction of the Office for Diversity & Community Partnerships, this position reports to the Administrative Director for the PRIME Programs. The PRIME Program Coordinator is accountable for supporting and guiding the development of all PRIME programming, monitoring student development and academic success, coordination of events and course electives, meetings coordination, outreach for clinical experience placement, and co-project budget management. The PRIME Program Coordinator will also be responsible for the administration of program evaluation in collaboration with program leadership. As the PRIME Program Coordinator, you will work to support the goal of assisting student's ability to persistence throughout their medical student student life cycle, while meeting with students, as well as developing, planning, and implementing additional support services and activities that enhance student satisfaction and student success. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of health professions education program requirements. Thorough knowledge of health professions education industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.

  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills; includes active listening and critical thinking.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Strong problem solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.

  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.

  • Thorough knowledge of educational software and platforms. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program. Skills include statistical analysis of data across databases and systems.

  • Experience with various advising models to meet the needs of diverse student populations.

  • Ability to interface and coordinate with faculty around student development and student needs. Ability to demonstrate traits of a highly motivated self-starter, with a high energy level.

  • Basic photography/video editing/graphic design skills. Experience creating a regular publishing schedule and promoting content through social advertising. Ability to create relevant, original, high-quality content. Knowledge of implementation for a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific and timely marketing campaigns based on an event launch date. Experience assisting in marketing efforts on Instagram, and Tik Tok. Knowledge of how to monitor and respond to comments on social media sites. Social Media savvy (Instagram, website). Effective problem-solving skills. Ability to present information in forms, tables and/or spreadsheets. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to prioritize workload and work with multiple interruptions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including basic email etiquette skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and initiative driven. Must be tactful, diplomatic and possess the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
