DESCRIPTION

Under supervision act as a working Lead Custodian. Assists supervisor in such duties as training new employees, inspections, inventories, ordering supplies, interviewing new applicants and scheduling assignments. Performs supervisory duties in absence of supervisor. Performs custodial duties including semi-skilled and skilled cleaning housekeeping and/orgeneral maintenance. Ensures all necessary procedures for equipment are used in accordance with departmental safety policies. Responsible for assigned equipment, supplies, keys and related items. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of two to three (2 - 3) years of relevant experience.
  • Lead/supervisory or related experience.
  • Able to perform all cleaning/custodial functions including but not limited to mopping, pushing and pulling carts, wall washing, vent cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
  • Possess an understanding of procedures for the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemotherapy and infectious/biohazardous waste.
  • Proven ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.
  • Possess an understanding of basic safety regulations and issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Supervisory experience preferably in a custodial enviroment.
  • Prior custodial experience in a large, complex healthcare setting or hospitality environment.
  • Possess basic computer skills; knowledge of accessing online resources and trainings.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $41,384 - $54,539 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $19.82 - $26.12

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
