Performing Arts and Technology
The Department of Performing Arts and Technology is part of University College. The mission of the Department of Performing Arts and Technology is to provide an accessible and inclusive environment where all NC State students have opportunities to develop skills and knowledge, which prepares them for a lifetime of arts engagement and a variety of careers. We cultivate this environment through excellence in teaching, performance, service, outreach, and creative and scholarly work in arts entrepreneurship, dance, music, and music technology.
The Department of Performing Arts and Technology offers a variety of technique, ensemble, and lecture courses. The Department has a new major in Music Technology and also provides academic minors in Dance Studies, Dance Performance and Choreography, Music Studies, Music Performance, and Arts Entrepreneurship. Essential Job Duties

The Department of Performing Arts and Technology, a part of University College and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, seeks a Facility and Operations Associate to serve as a member of its staff team. In recent years the department has significantly expanded its offerings while simultaneously growing an increasingly engaged alumni and donor base and it has been recently renamed to reflect a merger of dance and music faculty and programs.. The successful applicant will join the department at an exciting time as it looks to launch a new music technology degree program, and continue to grow its offerings for students.

This position will:
  • Coordinate all facilities and equipment, room bookings, and SAT card access
  • Coordinate logistics for all concerts, lectures, and department events
  • Serve as the liaison between faculty, staff, and outside groups, which may include concert venues, ticket office, concert ushers, and a variety of music/dance service facilities and vendors to assure all staging and equipment needs are met.
  • DASATech and Carmichael Complex liaison
  • Collaborates with the company and ensemble directors committee
  • Maintain and organize the ensemble music library and equipment inventories for the department including the distribution and tracking of all rentals.
  • Coordinate recording and editing of concerts and lectures for educational and archival use
  • Training and supervision of student staff in support of assigned duties.

Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
 
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skill
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the willingness to take initiative to perform responsibilities independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of music and/or dance
  • Experience organizing and managing performance events
  • Prior work experience at a university
  • Experience in inventory and/or facility management
