Overview

The Information Systems "Systems Administrator" will serve as the CAES Information Systems Administrator in charge of our twenty Linux Servers and our 300+ Microsoft Servers and Workstations.


Responsibilities

  • Will document our current and future Linux and Microsoft network architectures and work closely with our Information Systems Security Manager and Facility Security Officer to coordinate networking issues affecting our Production efforts.
  • Will work daily to develop and update our robust cybersecurity policies that keep our systems secure.
  • Will administer the implementation of security measures to ensure compliance with government authorization requirements.
  • Will maintain and administer our network using tools such as Trellix, Splunk, and Veritas Backup Exec.
  • Will perform configuration and maintenance or our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers through our Satellite Server using Ansible scripting.
  • Will monitor and troubleshoot our closed Windows Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) network environment.
  • Reviewing and auditing event logs, creating system backups, monitoring system performance and maintaining system security and overall compliance.
  • Oversight of our Hypervisor Servers running under VMWare

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of administering information technology related equipment (servers, workstations, switches, etc.)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows workstations and Servers
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, and work in a fast pace environment.
  • Computer skills:
    • Candidate must be highly organized and self-motivated with excellent documentation skills.
    • Candidate should be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members at all levels.

Preferred:

  • College Degree
  • Current Security Clearance.
  • Solid RHEL administrative experience with a solid understanding of RHEL administration through Linux terminal commands.
  • Solid Microsoft administrative experience with patching, active directory, DNS, DHCP, DoD STIG/SCAP application, and event log management.
  • Experience in implementing and configuring Trellix, Splunk, and Veritas Backup Exec Servers.
  • Experience in implementing and configuring multiple VMWare virtualized servers.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco Catalyst Switches.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Triplite and APC Uninterruptible Power Supply systems.
  • Robust network troubleshooting experience.
  • IAT Certifications: CompTIA's - Linux +, Security +, Network +, or ISC2's - CISSP

Salary Range: $80,000 - $115,000 annually (San Diego).

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. CAES provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K, paid holidays and vacation. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay.
