Are you passionate about investigating the impact of environmental pollutants on human health? The Lehmler Lab at the University of Iowa invites applications for a motivated individual to contribute to our cutting-edge research efforts.


About Us:
 At the Lehmler Lab, we aim to understand the complex relationship between environmental pollutants and their impact on human health. Using cutting-edge liquid and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry techniques, our research is at the forefront of environmental toxicology.


Position Overview:
 We seek a driven individual to join our team. Experience in developing, validating, and performing liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) assays in complex matrices is required. Experience in analyzing environmental pollutants in biological samples using LC-MS/MS is desired.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop, validate, and execute methods for analyzing environmental pollutants in samples from animal and epidemiological studies using our state-of-the-art Sciex 7500 LC-MS/MS.
  • Disseminate research findings through scientific publications, presentations, and participation in grant-writing activities.
  • Collaborate effectively within our multidisciplinary team.

The selected candidate will become part of the Exposure Science Facility of the Environmental Health Science Research Center and the Analytical Core of the Iowa Superfund Research Program. Additionally, access to career development activities through NIEHS-funded centers will be provided.

Education Requirement:

PhD in analytical chemistry or a related field.

Proven track record of scholarly achievements demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications.
