Overview

NV5 is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager/Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure Group, where you will oversee the execution of planning, design, and preparation of construction documents for water & wastewater infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and executing complex projects within the water and wastewater sector is also crucial. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical components, including the development of collection & transmission pipelines, pump stations, and water/wastewater treatment systems.

Responsibilities
    Oversee the complete lifecycle of projects, from initial planning and contract execution to successful completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Assume full technical ownership of construction documents, leading their interpretation, organization, execution, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Administer and manage contracts with contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions while safeguarding the company's financial interests.
  • Effectively manage project budgets, utilizing resources efficiently and monitoring expenditures to ensure project completion within budget constraints.
  • Monitor and mentor assigned staff, ensuring their activities align with project requirements and contribute to optimal project outcomes.
  • Act as the central point of contact and facilitator for seamless communication and collaboration between clients, company personnel, and contractors, proactively resolving any project issues that may arise.
  • Analyze complex construction and design challenges, while identifying opportunities for innovative solutions and developing and implementing effective techniques or procedures.
  • Represent projects and clients professionally and confidently at meetings and conferences, providing clear and concise communication of project progress and status.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for NV5, leveraging expertise and established relationships to expand the company's portfolio and market presence.
  • Review and respond to contractor correspondence promptly and effectively, ensuring all inquiries and concerns are addressed efficiently.
  • Implement clear and consistent on-site procedures to guide and support staff in their daily tasks and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain open communication with clients, keeping them informed about project developments, potential issues, and proposed solutions to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate effectively with other agencies involved in the project, maintaining open communication and collaboration to achieve project objectives and ensure smooth execution.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in civil or environmental engineering, Master's in a related field is preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive relative water/wastewater infrastructure design experience.
  • Experience on hydraulic modeling software for water distribution and wastewater collection systems is preferred (Innovyze products).
  • LEED and/or QSD/QSP is preferred.
  • California PE preferred, or ability to obtain a California PE license within a year.
  • Local municipality, water district experience within CA is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with other municipalities and public agencies in Southern California is a plus.

The pay range for this California position is $150,000 - $180,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
