Job Description

The Department of History at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a twelve-month Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in United States history before 1877. The position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024. This is a non-tenure-track position for the academic year 2024–25, contingent upon funding. The duties of this position include teaching two regularly scheduled courses per semester as arranged in consultation with the department chair. The fellow will be expected to teach US History survey courses, in addition to their choice of upper-division HIST courses listed in the on such topics as Nevada and the West, environmental history, gender and sexuality, Asian American history, or science, technology, and society, depending on their specific areas of expertise. In addition to teaching, the fellow is also expected to advance their own research agenda, direct undergraduate theses and graduate independent studies as requested, and serve on departmental committees.
