Position Overview
C&S Companies is hiring a Structural Senior Project Engineer to be based in our Phoenix or San Diego office. This is a great opportunity for an individual to help grow our structural engineering practice in the Southwest marketplace. This individual will be responsible for leading projects, performing and managing technical engineering, and assisting with business development efforts. The Structural Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for delivery of structural engineering services on Aviation, Industrial, Private, Healthcare, Commercial, and Public/Government projects in the Western United States.
Position Responsibilities
- Serves as lead structural engineer on projects and stamps drawings where required and/or works in the responsible charge of a licensed structural engineer
- Performs structural engineering calculations, edits specifications, and prepares design drawings
- Provides technical guidance to structural Revit designers in the preparation of design models and drawings
- Assists in developing project structural requirements, conducting field surveys, and developing construction documents
- Coordinates with the other design disciplines in the delivery of structural designs
- Performs services during construction including responding to RFI's, reviewing submittals, and performing field observations
- Supporting C&S business development efforts including project pursuits, fee proposal preparation, client management, and project interviews.
- Beneficial prior project experience on healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, and/or industrial projects.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and works well in team environment.
- Ability to work on teams and project in other C&S offices (remote/virtual connections).
- Occasional travel as a part of project delivery will be required.
- Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
- Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.
Skills/Education/Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in structural engineering with California and Arizona structural engineering (SE) licenses
- Prior experience with Autodesk Revit
Estimated Compensation Range: $115,000-150,000/year*
*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
