Eastern Oklahoma State College is a comprehensive community college providing instruction in a wide range of curricula.

The Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as the chief academic officer of the college and is responsible for educational policy and academic programs and oversight of the Library, the Director of Enrollment Management, and Financial AidThis position reports directly to the President and is responsible for executive direction and policy formation for the Academic Affairs area.

FLSA: Exempt

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree required. Doctorate preferred. Progressive senior administrative experience and college teaching experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the academic division consistent with the mission of the College using a leadership style that emphasizes shared governance.
  • Provides leadership for academic support and academic services (library, enrollment management, etc.).
  • Promotes academic integrity and creates an effective teaching and learning environment.
  • Represents the College on OSRHE’s Council on Instruction.
  • Serves as the academic voice on the President’s Leadership Council.
  • Leads the Academic Leadership Team (ALT) and sets the agenda for its monthly meetings.
  • Assists with administrative functions such as mentoring, faculty performance reviews, tenure, monitoring of faculty workloads, and faculty professional development.
  • Develops, administers, and monitors academic affairs budget.
  • Serves as the Higher Learning Commission liaison and ensures appropriate preparation for accreditation reviews.
  • Oversees assessment of student learning, using data-driven decision making to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Oversees the program review process and reporting to OSRHE.
  • Oversees and monitors course schedules.
  • Uses environmental scanning to develop new academic programs when appropriate.
  • Works with other administrators and staff to develop programs to improve student persistence and degree completion.
  • Coordinates institutional research activities including collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting information on the characteristics of the College for use in decision making.
  • Serves as the Keyholder for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data system (IPEDS).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Estimated salary range: $78,000 - $82,000

Length of Assignment: 12 months
