The DuBois Area YMCA presents an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated cause-driven professional to take the next step in their career to lead a truly mission-driven YMCA in a wonderful, tight-knit community. We are looking for an innovative leader with fresh ideas to build relationships with community members, create fundraising opportunities and continue the growth of the DuBois YMCA. Continuing with the success of the previous CEO, the new leader must have experience with fundraising both annual support and capital campaigns along with the ability to restart the growth of the endowment. You will be joining a YMCA with a strong group of energized board members and a devoted set of seasoned employees with a true passion about the mission and love for the community.

Previous Year’s Campaign Impact
- Total number of people receiving financial assistance was: 19 Family, 14 Adult, 7 Senior and 1 Youth membership grants were provided in 2023.
- Total amount awarded in financial assistance $26,229 which included 800 visits from Youth and Adult non-profit service agencies.
Capital Campaign
- The last Capital Campaign was in 2015. The goal was $1.2 million and this was achieved. Dollars were used to renovate the DuBois facilities over a 5-year phased plan as the donations were paid.

Qualifications
Minimum Criteria for candidates:
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
- Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees. Prior YMCA experience is preferred.
- Experience developing and strengthening community relationships.
- Experience developing new programs and reviewing programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve.
- Successful fiscal management track record.
- Experience leading and participating in successful fundraising efforts.
- Grant writing and management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and strengthen community relationships and effective partnerships.
- Proven ability to lead with a collaborative approach while working with the board to achieve the strategic vision.
Essential Functions
Key Skills and Abilities
Develop and Implement the Strategic Plan: Work effectively with volunteers, community leaders, and key staff, to create and develop a strategic plan that addresses the needs of the communities served by the Y and includes defined organizational strategies, a clear implementation plan with deliverables, and measurable goals.
Develop a Strong Fiscal Plan and Continue to Improve Operational Performance: Assess the current operation and create a business plan that will drive continued growth and efficiency in membership and programs. Provide effective leadership to position the Y for strong fiscal performance while expanding services to the community. Work with the board and staff to develop long-term and annual tactical plans for achieving key goals and objectives.
Advocate the Vision of the YMCA within the Community: Proactively interact and communicate with YMCA members, donors, staff, volunteers, and the community. Serve as an active ambassador and face of the YMCA for the mission and vision for the YMCA within the community as a respected leader with the ability to develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders developing mutually beneficial collaborations. Expand partnerships and collaborations to ensure an elevated presence of the Y in the community.
Lead and Develop the Staff Team: Establish yourself as a leader to attract, motivate, engage, and retain staff in a positive and productive manner by implementing an expectation for excellence. Demonstrate an engaging, open, positive, and inclusive leadership style with a proven history of displaying integrity, a strong work ethic and courage. Be innovative and maintain an open mind for developing new ways of expanding services and their impact.
Steward Fundraising Efforts: Partner with the board to continue success in increased annual donations that provide financial assistance to those in need as well as support operations. Work with the board to also secure donations and develop a cohesive fundraising plan to renovate as well as maintain facilities to better meet the needs of members, program participants and the community. Ensure public and private partnerships and resources are developed to support these efforts that also instill confidence, credibility, and trust in the Y with community leaders and donors.

DuBois is located in Western Pennsylvania, northeast of Pittsburgh and southeast of Erie. Our city is surrounded by forests, streams, and wildlife; it is a nature-lovers’ and hunter’s paradise. DuBois is also a hub for baseball and softball hosting tournaments such as, the Small College World Series, the Eastern Regional Little League Tournament, and the PIAA State games. Penn State University has a local campus in DuBois. The DuBois Y is adjacent to the DuBois City Park and City pool that the Y has historically been able to use. The YMCA was started in 1894. The service area includes DuBois, Sandy Township, Falls Creek, Sykesville, Reynoldsville, and Penfield.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 based on experience.
